38 mixing brass and stainless steel fittings

I've had brass fittings on my stainless kettle since 1996 and its just fine. Granted I've since upgraded but I still use brass with stainless. I believe it's stainless and aluminum you don't want to mix. Mixing Stainless and Brass Fittings. The quality of the stainless wasn't in question in this case more basically. I am under the understanding that stainless steel mixed with brass is not an issue. Stainless steel mixed with copper is not an issue. Stainless steel carrying drinking water is not an issue. That's what i thought. Being told otherwise. And i'm not sure.
